Passengers Stuck Hours On Train Without A/C
SANFORD, Fla. -- Nearly 400 passengers say their train was like a sauna. The passengers were on an Amtrak train that just arrived in Sanford late Monday afternoon. Last week's cool spell turned the discharge canal at Tampa Electric Co.'s Big Bend Station into a 30-acre outdoor sauna for more than 100 manatees. "It's a manatee spa," TECO environmental specialist Wendy Valle Anastasiou told visitors Thursday at the Manatee Viewing Center.
