POINT PLEASANT - Big rains a few days ago left plenty of big puddles on the course, the torrid heat made it like a sauna bath, but the intrepid Tri-County Junior golfers overcame it all and turned the 2006 finale roundup into a fun day of shot-making and prize-winning at Hidden Valley County Club.
Tony Bennett is so cool - the epitome of coolness - that I doubt he sweats in a sauna. He had fans working up a sweat at his recent engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton, applauding in standing ovations.

In response to the Sound Off submission regarding proper pronunciation of numerous words in our area, I say, “Huzzah and kudos!” to the author. As a fellow linguaphile and grammar snob, I applaud anyone willing to take a stand for proper English.
