Sauna stove may have started house fire
Firefighters suspect a sauna stove may be responsible for a late night basement fire in the city’s south side. Five pumpers responded to a report of a basement fire on Confederation Drive shortly after midnight Sunday. Crew arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the home’s basement.
High-rise fire leaves block without recreation centre
Even for a sauna, this was a bit hot. A fire broke out in the basement sauna area of a high-rise apartment complex late Saturday night, prompting an evacuation of the 25-storey building.
